"A nation without culture is like a nation without a soul"
- Sir Seretse Khama, First President of Botswana.
How we deliver cultural tourism
'Cultural' or 'ecotourism' is defined as: 'responsible travel to natural areas that conserves the environment and sustains the well being of local people', (The International Ecotourism Society). Translated into practise that means Kaie Tours will:
- Camp in peaceful, unspoilt sites and keep them that way.
- Recruit all the experts we can in the community with traditional skills and knowledge to provide a diverse programme.
- Deliver a quality experience for tourists so that they recommend our safaris and the project is sustainable.

Kaie Tours safaris to rural communities are in line with the official Botswana Tourism Development Programme the overall objective of which is 'to diversify the economy and to improve the quality of life of the indigenous population' This objective carries with it certain responsibilities for the tour operator one of which is to 'minimise negative social, cultural and environmental impacts' Visitors too share that responsibility and guidelines are included in the briefing for each tour into a community.
